What is LDA?

Low Dose Allergen (LDA) therapy is an innovative treatment that helps regulate the immune system to reduce allergic reactions and sensitivities. It involves administering extremely low doses of allergens combined with an enzyme called beta-glucuronidase to retrain the immune system to tolerate substances to which it previously overreacted.

LDA is used to treat a wide range of conditions, including environmental allergies, food sensitivities, and autoimmune disorders, offering long-term relief without the need for frequent medications or allergy shots.

Now the big question. . .

If I am a patient, how do I get started with LDA?

Please go to the “LDA” tab and find “Certified LDA providers”. From there you can see a list of doctors in your area that are currently administering LDA. If you do not see a doctor nearby, please email Renee.

If I am a doctor, how do I get started with LDA?

Please Contact Dr. Barry Smeltzer at the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) to begin your LDA training and certification for offering LDA in your practice. His email address is blsmeltzer@aaemonline.org.
